In 1985, Gupta et al. ([1]) published a case history of hydrocephalus and severe spinal adhesive arachnoiditis due to iophendylate, and Kaugars et al. ([2]) wrote about residual cranial contrast.

Meanwhile, a worker at the Drug and Poison Information Control wrote to Alcon reporting a case of paralysis in the lower extremities, also sending a copy to the FDA.

The complaint was referred on within the FDA after several months, but what action, if any, was taken is not apparent.
