I have for the past 7 months been receiving intravenous lidocaine each month via a pain clinic for neuropathy and central pain syndrome caused by arachnoiditis. Although I realize this treatment carries risks I found it helped me quite a bit for about 3 weeks post infusion.
When I went for my last infusion they announced that they would be discontinuing this treatment due to lack of resourses (you have to be cardiac monitored, constant nursing care, and so forth) With this treatment I have been able to cut back quite a bit on my narcotics, so I'm needless to say disappointed. The med. insn't expensive, the nursing hours ect. are.
I always feel one way or another that I'm fighting the system and when something finally works, the rug is pulled.
Sorry my first post is negative but don't read it as such. I'm glad to have a place discuss this frustration and to be understood, kindly, Aly
